Warning this book will not be conventional in the sense that it will try to provide politically correct answers to the problems that we are facing in urban America. A subject of this matter requires a deeper analysis that goes well beyond the scope of one s typical way of thinking, so I wrote this book as a starting point in an attempt to address such matters. We must explore unconventional solutions, or at least view the situation from an unconventional standpoint if we want to make any true breakthroughs. If we are going to deal with the core of the problems that we as an urban society are faced with in regards to our youth, we must be open and honest about the current state that they live in. While it is important that we address the cause of the situation, it is also equally important that we look at the affects of living in an artificial environment plagued by violence, drugs, unemployment, discrimination, and police brutality. How could one not be violent in the face of all the violence that we have endured over the last 400 years? How could one not want to use drugs as an escape from all of the hardships related to living in such conditions? When faced with the option of being hungry and unemployed, or hitting the streets to sell drugs, how could one not make the choice of getting paid? This is a no-brainer when the concept of survival is on the line. The million- dollar question is, what if the same things that plagued us could save us? This generation has learned to embrace the unbearable. That old saying, whatever doesn t kill you will only make you stronger rings true with this generation. Drugs and alcohol, which have cause so much damage to the previous generation, has almost had the reverse affect on this generation. They have become immune to the negative affects. They have become stronger than ever before. They celebrate life in what appears to be the direst situations, leaving even their oppressors confused. They have created an entire culture based on the type of music that they listen to, the type of drugs and alcohol that they use, and their sexual behaviors. While most will view them as violent, lost, and confused troublemakers with no regard for life, in my humble opinion, they are the most advanced, enlightened, and spiritual beings on the planet. They just lack the knowledge, wisdom, and understanding of who they really are. As a result, their actions are in contrary of such divine principles. They have bottomed out, and are now using the very vices that were meant to weigh them down, to uplift them. I call this urban alchemy. To the parents, teachers, and elders who have all but given up on this generation, and scoff at the notion that they are an asset, I have but a few questions to ask you, have you taught them about sex magic and the power of using their creative energy to activate their spirituality? Have you taught them about the use of certain drugs that could assist them in seeing beyond this so-called reality and their connection to everything in the universe? Have you taught them about the power of music and sound vibration, and its ability to heal and open up their spiritual centers? If you have answered no to any of these questions, then it is you who are out of touch with the current reality that they reside in. They are in the process of a metamorphosis unlike what we have ever witnessed before. If your response is, this is just some mumbo jumbo new Age nonsense, then it shows that you are really out of touch with the transformation that we are all making, which is being led by this cast of rebellious, misunderstood youth. Some of you may have already put the book down, for those who are still with me, strap on your seatbelt because we are about to go on one hell of a ride.

Urban Culture Decoded The Black Dot Rasta Asaru Escott EL 9780977235735 Books

I first heard of the author when I watched a youtube lecture he was involved with on the Straight Outta Compton movie. A lot of people were blaming NWA and "gangsta" rap for most of our current problems in the "urban" community. Black Dot explained his view very well and I felt he was a kindred spirit on that subject because for the most part he was saying what I was thinking. And of course he plugged his book. So that is what made me curious about it.

After reading this book I fully realized even more that Black Dot may be a kindred spirit in seeing our issues from a logical objective standpoint. He gets it. And he seems to be a big fan of logic thinking but with a solid foundation in knowlege of self to back it up. This book does very well breaking down the possible thought processes of a new generation and how the older generations factor into how they view the world. I feel this would be a good book for teenagers, adults, or elders. And how often does that happen? Great job Black Dot!

Awesome Book to read and gain knowledge.
Excellent reading & in depth look at the hood from urban cultural perspective
Awesome book, easy to follow and read. It doesn't have a lot of political jargon or anything that makes it hard to follow. The concepts are real and its like we already know, but he puts it together nicely.
This book is everything!!! If you haven't read "hip-hop decoded", I highly suggest that you give this a read and add it to your collection. In a generation of kids that are listening to garbage rap, it is necessary to give them some insight from a cat that was there at the beginning. A+++++++
This was a well written book and he wrote so many complex ideas in the most simple terms that a child could read it and learn some gems. I love all of us videos on youtube and look forward to more from him.
These are troubling times, however all is not lost. This book really keeps it "100" in describing what's going on in the "streets" and challenges all of us to vibrate to a higher frequency to solve our problems. This is a must read for all.
Word Up! This is a Must read for all who have experienced or have been influenced in some way or another by our culture of Hip Hop which is this particular World's true culture. So in other words all 8.5 billion people, the trillions of life forms on the planet and all life forms organic and inorganic in this entire universe have been and are being influenced by the Culture of Hip-Hop. Hip-Hop is a world wide or better yet a Universal culture in which all magnetic forces are and should gravitate toward. This particular book presented and spoken through by The Black Dot is essential reading for people both young and so-called old who can and will understand and overstand the messages presented. This is truly a book given to the next generations which will be a major part of the new "Bible" 50-100 years from now! It's a must read Word Up!!

...As we propagate through this place called space on/in our spaceship called Earth we experience many levels of radiation and/or electromagnetic energy forces/deities. We have our ups and downs just as the Sun, the Stars, the Solar System, this galaxy and all galaxies, and Universes do. Ever since we passed through a "negative" energy field created within our own mind and projected out into this physical space, we have come across a great many experience which one can define as negative or positive depending on their perspective. We are now at a time when a new beginning a new birth is at hand and like most births there is pain and suffering but in that pain and suffering is the essence of true beauty. That essence is the birth we are all embracing and seeding nourishment for generations now and generations to come for thought forms may exist at any moment and manifest many years later....
